Valentine’s Day Style Guide

Hi Loves,

Valentine’s Day! A day that shares in giving chocolates, teddy bears, and love for the significant other in your life, personally the only love I have love for other than the unconditional love for family, is netflix and personal chocolates brought by me, given to me, but in the midst of the national holiday I will share in the gift of style. Valentine’s Day is not the traditional holiday when it pertains to fashion, it has evolved into a variety of styles, so whether you are into the classic dress for date night or totally edgy, I have provided a few choices to help with your decision making process.

The traditional style for valentine’s day has always been varied into wearing pink or red, a dress, and a pair of heels, but modern day style guides, literally everywhere have provided other options that can keep the theme of Valentine’s but not make it so obvious. The styles that I decided to choose were to show a range of styles that play with color, pattern, and length. We heard of the infamous little black dress, or lbd for short, I have a dress that shifts the lbd, to a bit more playful, the polka dot knee-length dress I picked from Missguided shows that this style doesn’t have to be matronly but more chic + modern. The polka dot print plays at different mediums, and can easily dressed up with dainty jewelry to set the look off. All the dresses provided are under $50, so if you’re looking for something inexpensive, yet good quality this would be the looks. SHOP THESE LOOKS: Blush Polka Dot Ruffle Hem Wrap Tea Dress, $37 | Blush Satin Lace Midi Dress Kimono Duo Co Ord Set, $70 | Rust Satin Strappy Cross Back Midi Dress

Category is business woman realness, and the pantsuit is sickning. This year has been the year of pantsuits and I don’t know who your style star is but mine is Zendaya, her 70’s inspired fashion collection w/ Tommy Hilfiger has turned heads for the statement pantsuits and who says you can’t be business woman chic on a date. I love pantsuits not only can they be made to mix n match; but the suit is already ready to wear, RTW. The looks I’ve chosen are perfect for your night out. The chosen looks below, all range in texture, pattern, and color; and what do they have in common? There all under $60. Shop the Looks: Blue Co Ord Shimmer Boyfriend Blazer | Brown Plaid Co Ord Super Oversized Blazer | Brick Peg Suit Trousers | Pink Co Ord Double Breasted Oversized Masculine Blazer

Nothing says comfortable like the perfect pair of pants. Who says date night can’t be a simple pair of jeans and a bodysuit. I have picked a few choices, not just because I’m obsessed with pants but you can do so much with combinations, the perfect pants can set the tone for the outfit you’re trying to create, you want edge, sophistication, subtle; you name it I got the perfect pair. Shop these Looks: Black Faux Leather Cargo Pants | Raspberry Co Ord High Waisted Denim Mom Jeans | Red Croc Texture Vinyl Leggings | Tall Light Blue High Waisted Double Slash Knee Jeans | Tan Faux Leather Seam Detail Leggings

WTF??? $1 Glitter Pots | Fixate Cosmetics

fixate2.png

Glitter Fanatics! Like you I love e x t r a sparkle, and believe no look is complete without it, what if I told you, you can get great pigment for cheap. By now, I think every beauty brand, both luxe & Indie, have come out with a glitter formula that only seems to improve every time….So tell me beauty queens do you prefer loose or pressed?

Fixate1.3.pngfixate1.png

I have had the pleasure of trying plenty of Indie brands, and now I can add Fixate to the mix. Fixate cosmetics blessed my makeup collection with some loose glitters and a really out of this world highlighter, and let’s just say I’m more than impressed with the pricing, and color pay off. After receiving my products, I did a little research on the site, watched Youtube, and after a days pass, I finally opened and tested the items I received.

Glitter Pots

Fixate cosmetics have a choice of 30 glitter pot shades ranging in both cool tone blues to fiery reds, to even a white glitter—Like, what? Each individual glitter, is $2 which compared to a lot of other companies, is not bad at all. I really like these glitter pots, because they can be used on your nails, eyes, and face glitter, so you can definitely get a variety of looks. The shades that I got that I received were Purple reign – ( which is a lilac purple), Black Goddess – (Black w/ hints of navy blue), & fairy dust- ( silver), the color payoff is immaculate, especially for the pricing- a lot of glitters that are normally this cheap are those horrible glitters with that sticky gel / vaseline, uhhh just thinking about gives me chills, but not these glitters, they pick up easily; and are build-able, with the use of a primer of course. You can use your finger, but it applies better with the use of a concealer brush, it picks up more product. I also pat the product in the area I want it, because who rubs in anything, dealing with beauty. I really enjoy the glitters, I’m pretty much a pro at using glitter, but you have to start somewhere, right? This is a great glitter for beginners, or if you’re looking to start doing makeup.

GLOW baked highlighter

When it comes to highlight, I’m pretty much obsessed, sometimes overly, but heyyy we all have our beauty obsessions. I’ve tried so many highlights, I probably could tell you the brand blindfolded— told you, obsessed— It’s just I know what I like & look for in a quality highlight. When I got my highlighter in the mail, I was so excited, and kind of had my thoughts planned as to what to expect. Fixate carries these Glow baked highlighters in shades Twilight, Opulence, & Baked. I received the Baked highlighter, which is a pretty golden shade w/ hints of champagne in it, retailing for $14. The highlighter is baked so you can expect a lot of fall out and tons of glitter, which I’m not mad about. When you swatch the shade it’s super light— almost like you’re swatching a marshmallow, is that a weird description, I can’t really describe it, I just know its soft and full of sparkle. When applying, with the swipe & flick of the wrist, be prepared to endure tons of fall out, but a ton of G L O WWhen applying this baked highlighter it’s best to spray some fix plus setting spray then apply it, this allows it to stay in position, and you can then manipulate the blending quality. Another way is to just wear it as a bronzer and shimmer affect, this option acts almost like the Fenty beauty fairy bomb glitter— and will look just as beautiful for a lot cheaper.

As first impressions go— the products did not disappoint. The glitters and highlighters turned out beautiful, and the brand offers quality beauty products, for a amazing price— Capital on the AH mazing— I will definitely be posting again about the products shown in this post.

Baby, Its cold outside….

Hi Loves,

When it comes to winter weather, the only thing you want to do is snuggle under a ton of blankets and watch reruns of Sex and the City w/ hot chocolate ( or wine), but there are those cold mornings when you have to leave the comfort of home to the outside bitterness, and who says you can’t be casual comfort, to take on the day. Here are some wonderful outfits and choices that will actually leave you feeling warm inside, and hot outside.

Over sized Sweaters

Cable Knit oversized sweaters |Cableknit Pullover |Bow Tie knit sweater

When it comes to over sized sweaters, its always best to buy them a size up, because “the bigger, the better.” With the brisk wind of the winter, over size will save your life, unless you live in California. I really like slouchy sweaters, the way they hang off jeans, looks like your not trying at all, which isn’t that the look we been trying to pull off for years.

Tell me do you love Oversize sweaters?

MOM JEANS????

Ripped knee Loose jeans | Bleach Washed mom jeans

Mom Jeans?? I know who would have thought this would be the trend of trends. In all fairness mom jeans are the perfect jeans for the winter trends. Mom jeans fit loose but , tight in the right places, if you pick wisely. I put mom jeans on the list because, they can be worn with just about anything, and pairing them with an oversize hoodie, or jacket, bumps up the look 110%.

Thigh High Boots

Lacy Thigh high boots | Faux Suede Camel Thigh high boots | Pointed Toe faux leather boots

Its no doubt, thigh high boots are the #1 fashion essentials for the winter. Thigh highs, are just the main attraction of any outfit, also if you want those long model legs, these provide that illusion.

I hope you enjoyed this fashion post, and tell me in the comments what’s your favorite thing about the winter?

The Facial Bar | Clear Skin & Glow’n

Hi Lovelies,

When it comes to clear skin, I am willing to pay tons of cash for every great product created for skin, and I know I’m not alone. Numerous brands has come out with skincare as a branch off with the same promise, ” The #1 product that will make you toss your other products” well I actually came across a wonderful brand that show results.

The facial Bar, a skincare & Beauty brand, sent me some samples to try out, over 2 months ago, and here I am with my review…..shall we begin.

My skincare changes constantly, me being a black women there are numerous products that does not support my type of skin, which is constant back and forth with creams and products. The facial bar, is a skincare and beauty brand that supports women of color skin issues, like acne, dark scarring, etc. When I read more on the brand, I found out they are cruelty free, as well as free of parabens, talc, and formaldehyde.

I was sent a Diminishing clay mask, and a gorgeous highlighter.

The Diminishing Scar clay masque, is made with all natural ingredients; Pumpkin clay, Tumeric powder, Cranberry powder, Aloe Vera, all things that your skin needs. On the website it says to use it twice a week, to see results, so I did just that. I really like this masque, it helped with the redness of my skin and cleared up some acne that I had on my cheeks. When you first put it on, it does have a slight burning sensation, after it just starts to harden. After using it the first couple times, I did see the improvement and natural glow to my skin. Being that this is a powder based mask, it allows you to mix it with other home ingredients, I used Milk, lemon, and honey ( which is a natural skin brightener combination). The product costs $16, which for a organic product is a really great price. Overall, this product does work for me, I like how it’s powder based, it gives you the choice of mixing it with whatever is good for your skin, or to use it with something as simple as, water.

Highlighters have become part of a daily routine for, it seems like I don’t need to do a full face beat, just some highlighter will get me through the day. I tried out one of their highlighters and got the shade Rose. This highlighter is so beautiful, a picture can not do it justice, you would have to see it in person. I love this shade, its easy to build, and blend out. when I swatched it on my arm, it almost felt like air, it wasn’t clunky or chalky, it felt very high end, if not better. They have a 7 shades that looks great on all skin tones, for $14 ea.

Overall, the Facial bar, has amazing products for amazing products, and being able to deliver high quality products, for affordable prices is even better. Don’t believe me, check out the Facial Bar
