Jane Iredale Skincare & Makeup | First Impressions + Swatches

Sony_12[1]

Hi Lovelies,

It is June 1st, and it seems like a lot has happen in the month of not writing. I’ve been in between testing tons of makeup and trying to get back in school, but moving into June I have a ton of exciting post to share!! Enough rambling lets talk makeup, LOL

Now around the beginning of May I received a gorgeous package from Jane Iredale, if you haven’t heard here’s a little info on the brand.

Jane Iredale is the president and founder of Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, a company she founded in 1994 which brought the mineral makeup line Jane Iredale to the aesthetic industry. She was the first to supply this industry with a line of makeup that had skin care benefits.

Jane has always thought of makeup as an essential part of a woman’s sense of well-being and she wanted to make that easy to achieve.  That’s why her mineral powders are a foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen all in one, and why every product in the line is multi-functional.  Her goal is to make products that look good, feel good and are good for the skin.  Products must be easy to apply, as well, so that a woman can be her best in the shortest amount of time.

I was sent a bronzer, 2 pressed eyeshadow palette, 2 glosses, 2 lip crayons & a Hydration Spray.

Lets talk hydrating Spray, the spray is a lemongrass hydrating Spray that is great to give you a boost after a workout, or even a glow to your makeup. I used this after both scenarios and its such a boost of refreshing mist, It does take more than a sec to dry, but the consistency of the spray is so even, I really love using this. In a world of setting sprays and hydrating sprays, I really can’t compare this spray to any other, the combination of lemongrass, and the mist itself is so refreshing. Now Jane Iredale, has 5 different hydration sprays, it retails for $30. Overall this is great product.

There isn’t a beauty brand that doesn’t have a line of pressed eye shadows, the most famous of them being Colourpop, Jane has a ton of pressed eye shadows to select from in various finishes, matte, metallic, creamy, etc. The 2 palettes I have comes in a duo and another was a trio of shades. Both palettes have a great transition shade, and between the two I can do at least 3 different eye looks. The duo pure pressed shadows have 2 shades a light shade ( Supernova) and a deep brown shade w/ Shimmer ( Oyster) both are heavily pigmented and are not chalky at all, I think the shades are perfect for everyday. I love the packaging of the duo palette, it comes in this luxurious gold packaging, which I’m a sucker for pretty packaging. The Trio palette is pretty as well, the palette “Pink Bliss” comes with  pretty shades, a transition shade, a very matte pink shade, and a shimmery plum shade, which gives me so much LIFE!

first 3 ( the Pink Bliss trio palette) Last 2 ( Oyster/Supernova duo palette)

These are the swatches without priming my arm, as you can see the shades are pigmented and doesn’t have any chunky fallout, which you normally get with glittery or shimmer eye shadows. Overall the shades are great, they are wearable and both contain very pretty shades, my favorite is the “Pink Bliss” trio palette.

Both palettes retail for $30

Next I got the “Rose Dawn” bronzer that comes with a highlight, 2 blushes, & contour, when I looked at the shades they all seem like blushes, except the highlight shade, But then when I swatched I could tell the difference, the shades look a lot different than in the pan itself. All the shades have a shimmer effect, which when it comes to my bronzers/ contour shades I like deep matte shades but I tried it anyhow to give it chance. I really like the feel of the bronzer, the texture is very buttery and soft, they apply really nice. When wearing the bronzer shades they act more as a highlighter, all have a very iridescent finish to them sort of like the Nicole Guerriero x ABH highlight palette it’s just the shades look a little similar, which is great. I like the bronzer palette, its really pretty on the face.

It retails for $44

Lastly I got some lip products, when it comes to lip products I am a hoarder, I was sent 2 glosses, 2 lip crayons, and a lip balm. The glosses I got was the shade Pink Smoothie & Beach Plum. When it comes to glosses I normally can do without, because glosses can be sticky or not pigmented enough for me, but these Pure glosses are nothing like it. I really like the lip glosses, they are very light when applying and they don’t have a tacky application. I really like the shades, Beach Plum is my favorite, I’ll show you why in a min. I also got some lip crayons, which I love, both shades have this velvet like application which is just pigmented and smooth.

1496275962081

The first 2 shades Lip Crayons ( Yummy & Saucy) I love the names BTW! last 2 Pure Glosses ( Pink Smoothie & Beach Plum)

The lip crayons are, as you know, easy to apply, they glide on the lips I just love them.

Yummy ( Pinky Nude shade)

Saucy  ( red- Orange)

Pure Glosses

Pink Smoothie ( light Pink shade w/ shimmer)

Beach Plum ( Dark Plum w/ Pink undertone)

Lastly I got a Jane Iredale lip balm, which is just a great hydrating lipstick. I love the feel of this lip balm, it has a little pink tint to it, and smells like lemon, Mmmmm!!

The lip glosses retail $26 | Lip Crayons $18 | Lip Balm $15

Well that’s all for my haul and first Impressions, I hope you enjoyed, If you did be sure to “LIKE’ this post. Have you tried Jane Iredale? Whats your favorite product?

PR was sent by Jane Iredale, all opinions and photos were my own. Thank you

Couleurs Cosmetics Review & Swatch

2017-03-03-14-53-061

Hi Lovelies.

I have a ton of goodies to share with you “Beauty community”, starting right now. NO rambling. Couleurs Cosmetics recently sent me a PR package of some of their liquid lipsticks, matte lipsticks, and some matte lip liners. If you don’t know of the beauty brand here’s a little insight;

So now that you know a little about the brand, I got to try and swatch,  of each of their lipsticks, liquid lips, and the lip liners. I was excited to swatch these shades, they are all matte shades, pigmented AF, and are cruelty free, which is always a plus.

What I swatched were all products in the shades; Balancy, Paloma, Barbra, Couleur, Risque, Elveda, Provence, Naked, and Haiti. The formulas of the lip products all come in very matte formulas, not drying matte, but more of velvet matte form where its not drying and it doesn’t feel like it’s dragging on the lips. The collection contains of 10 liquid shades, 10 ultra matte lipsticks, and 5 lip liners.

The liquid lipsticks are very nice, they apply as sheer and are not heavy on the lips. The liquid lipsticks that I swatched all were very pretty, the shade that was my favorite was the nude shade in “Paloma” it was nice and buildable, especially with the help of the lip liner. The deep purple shade, Balancy, was a little streak-y, but Violet shades are always hard to come across a perfect shade, but though that one con, it still applies nicely and can build to the shade outside the tube. The ultra matte lipsticks all had brilliant performances, they all showed up nicely and with one stroke is very pigmented. I loved all the shades that I was given and I will be doing more looks on my INSTA with this shade.

Best Dressed | The Oscars 2017

Hi Lovelies,

So the most prestigious of award shows came on Sunday night, The Oscars, which was hosted by another great late night host Jimmy Kimmel. This award season has been the year of Late Night hosts, Jimmy Fallon, Kimmel and James Corden all have hosted the biggest award shows this year, and have been amazing, and while I would love to discuss the best moments of last nights show, I will only be discussing fashion, before it get to long of a post. LOL

Now, I love nothing more than talking about my favorite stars and what their wearing, so lets begin!!

“Women in White”

I love a woman in white, it usually looks so beautiful against the red carpet, and normally gets best dressed..so it’s no surprise these lovely ladies would make it on the list. Naomie Harris, Chrissy Teigen, Karlie Kloss, and more all dawned white gowns, but not only that they Chrissy, Karlie, and Darby all had a long “caped shoulder” design on their gowns, now I loved it, It was so inventive, and reminded me a little of Gwenyth Paltrow in Tom Ford and Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren. My favorite out of them all was probably Darby Stanchfield in Georges Chakra,  the ruffle pattern at the bottom and along the shoulder was just so gorgeous, and her hair looked amazing with minimal jewels. I just loved her look so amazing.

“Ladies in Red”

Viola Davis and Ruth Negga both looked stunning in red. Viola Davis who wore Armani, looked amazing, she also debuted a sassy short cut, I really loved her look, gown after gown all award season she has looked her best and after winning for her role in fences she is my leading lady, I will now be looking for her to show up every award season, to WOW us with her powerful presence. Ruth Negga wore Valentino for the second time I’m really starting to think she’s the face for the designer brand. ” One time, STUN me < two time SLAY MY LIFE” she absolutely looked so beautiful and she is really winning me over with her beauty. I really love red on red, a lot of people think you can get drowned out, but these women obviously drowned me because LITERALLY DEAD!!LOL

“Hidden Figures”

The “hidden Figures” cast all looked gorgeous Taraji, Janelle, and Kirsten looked super sexy in Black. Taraji P. Henson has been killing the red carpet all season and at the Oscars she showed her award winning look. She wore a black velvet off the shoulder gown by Alberta Feretti. One gown that stole a moment was Janelle in Elie Saab, this intricate and very “complicated” detailed gown looked amazing. We know that black n white are the nominated actresses go to color, but this dress had beautiful hints of colors thanks to the jewels, she couldn’t have looked more beautiful.

“Metallic & Shimmer”

Emma Stone always kills it on the red carpet, she wore Givenchy, which took me for a loop, I thought she was going to Valentino. Emma looked so beautiful, she had so much shimmer fringe that had so much movement, and the camera caught the right light to show all the shimmer effect. Jessica Biel wore a gold Kaufman Franco gown that sparkled and shined. Jessica looked way better than the Oscar it self. I really loved both gowns but I think between the two Jessica’s dress killed it.

Well that’s all I hope you enjoyed my best dressed post. Be sure to “LIKE” this post. Did you watch the Oscars? Who was your best dressed? Who was your worst? let me know in the comments.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paints

2017-02-08-14-36-001

HI Lovelies,

If you’re a beauty addict like me, then you know that liquid lipsticks have taken over in a BLINK! so when I heard about these new liquid paints from L’Oreal, I was so excited.

lrm_export_20170209_1923361

So L’Oreal came out with the new Infallible Paints collection, which contains a total of 14 different shades. Out of those 14 I only brought 3 of the shades, subtle I know, but I just wanted to test them out, before I went lip crazy!!

The three shades I purchased were Sultry Sangria, Violet Twist, & Bewitching Bordeaux, to stay in the deep grape/plum family.

2017-02-09-19-45-461

Pigment

I think that these lip paints are above & beyond, and they are super pigmented. When I swatched these shades, badly if I may add, they  apply sort of light with just one swatch, but they they are buildable, so if you want a darker shade, it can be achieved. I think that they apply very nice on the lips though, Its really opaque, and has a beautiful gloss finish.

Overview

The applicator has a dip in the dough foot, which is great when applying in the corners, I think that the length of the applicator is great, It comes in handy when trying to apply and keep within the lip shape. I really like the lip paints, they can be compared to the Too Faced melted liquid lips, I mean they feel very much like a melted lipstick, the consistency is very nice. As a melted lipstick, it’s not tacky at all, I really like the formula, and the fact that its not sticky, or thick.

SAG Awards 2017 | Best of the Red Carpet

Hi Lovelies,

The Sag awards has made its mark this year with empowering speeches, first time winners, Denzel Washington_ well deserved, cast reunions and a lot of fashion. I watched the red carpet before the prestigious award show and all I did is scream “Oh My God” and “Gurrrrll” all show with my Chai tea in hand. The red carpet was nothing less than amazing and I’m here to talk all my favorites.

The theme for the red carpet seem to be not only monochromatic, but lots of pale shades varying from white to fair pink, as well as daring bold colors, and fashion rebels who deviated away from gowns and rocked pant suits, which I love.

Thandie Newton, Sofia Vergara, and the lovely Janelle Monae all nominated women dawned the monochromatic print patterns. I Love when a celebrity wears black and white against the bold red carpet, to me its just very classic. Sofia did something new, usually she wears the Zac Posen fish tail dresses, but she wore something shorter, and fairly tame for her taste, at first I thought it was a bit boring, but then as she talked to Guiliana on the red carpet and I looked at her more and more, I like it more, it was gorgeous and different, she also brought husband Joe with her this time, Go Sofia. Janelle is known for rocking black and White gowns and outfits on the red carpet, but this dress (* dramatic pause*) this dress looked so gorgeous on her. She looked so chic and beautiful, the dress was tailored to perfection, and the embroidery was beautiful AF. I think between all 3 women my favorite had to be Janelle Monae’ she just took the cake and she won along with the cast for Hidden Figures, so Congratulations!!

I love an all white dress, if delivered correctly, and these 3 women never disappoint. Viola Davis, wore a bustier sleeveless gown by Vivienne Westwood, and as simple as it is,  its still beautiful. I love Viola, she shows up to the red carpet every time slaayying life itself. Kerry Washington wore this off the shoulder gown that went to see through at the bottom, she was serving Olivia Pope on a platter, and I was enjoying it. She just looked so good and has to be one of my favorites. Natalie Portman always looks amazing, she is the face of Dior and if you’re a Dior Girl you will never look bad on the Red carpet or any event in general. Natalie knows her style, she is very elegant, and has this regal appeal about her presence. I’ve always been a fan of Natalie Portman, I just love her, fashion, actress, everything wise.

Emma Stone wore Alexander McQueen in this beautiful flower embroidered gown with an illusion paneling, and this was so beautiful. Winner for La La Land, she looked so gorgeous on the red carpet, Any time there’s an award I always look for Emma Stone, her quirky personality is very lovable, and her style is even more fitting. I Love this dress so much it looked so intricate, and I’m a sucker for detailing, and this dress was definitely one of my favorites. Claire Foy was nominated and won for Television series The Crown, which is not a bad show, any show dealing with overpowering royalty, I’m for it. She dawned Valentino on the red carpet and looked as regal as can be. The black chiffon over the color and the collar was beautiful. I loved her embroidery for the neck down, the hem of the dress was nice, I love a gown that’s past your feet, or a really long train. Any ways both women were winners and they looked the part.

The lovely women in black, Octavia, Amy, Sarah, and Kate all walked the red carpet wearing black. Let’s start with Octavia Spencer, a nominee for Hidden Figures, wore a black gown with peplum detailing made by Tadashi. Octavia has always been a women to know her body, all her dresses that she has worn in the past and even at last nights event fit perfect. She always look so gorgeous and with the minimal jewelry and slick hair, it gave me time to admire her styling and beauty. Amy Adams wore a black gown with a plunging neckline, and she couldn’t look more beautiful. She turned a LBD into a success red carpet winner, I love her look. Sarah Paulson, need I say more, she always look amazing she kills it in American Horror Story, she kills it in The People v OJ Simpson, and she’s a winner on the red carpet. Sarah switches her style up and it never fails she wore a sleeveless LBD gown by Vera Wang. Kate Hudson, wore a see through paneling black gown by Dior. As I said, “Dior Girls” never disappoint. I love how Kate wore a slick back hair and minimal jewelry to make the dress the main attraction.

I Love when women come on the red carpet and they show up in a daring color or print. Naomie, Michelle Dockery, Yara, and Sofia Bush all dared to be bold on the Red Carpet. I really loved these women all nominated women slayed in bold shades. I think Yara Shahidi looked the best, I’ve been following her style since Black-ish and just like her character Zoey, she does not disappoint. Yara wore Naeem Khan and everything about this dress was just perfect.

Time for royalty, I saved these lovely ladies for last for a reason. Taraji, Emily, Kaley, and Julie all made a statement in pale shades and embroidery that could make you clutch your pearls. Lets start with Emily Blunt, being that she was on The Devil Wears Prada, I always expect her to dress in all the couture and just slay the carpets, and what do she do, she slays! She wore a very beautiful gown by Roberto Cavalli, and it so gorgeous. She looked so feminine and elegant, not that she doesn’t normally look feminine, she looked like a princess. I love this color on her, its a very seasonal color, and on trend right now. I really like the hem of her dress, as well as the fitting. Kaley Cuoco was styled by one of my favorite stylist Brad Goreski, who styles another favorite Sarah Hyland, Kaley dawned Marchesa in a sheer illusion gown with little detailing, she looked like a fairy tale, gliding the carpet, I loved this look on her. Another favorite was Julie Bowen who wore a gown by J.Mendel, and she looked super sexy, I loved the sheer paneling, and the intricate design detailing along her dress she looked amazing. And lastly, the star, the queen Taraji P. Henson, she was the best dressed on the entire Red Carpet. She wore a mauve embroidered gown by Reem Acra, and she werked!! Everything that she wore I loved the hair, dress, and jewels, she was just perfect. She won for Hidden Figures, which was an amazing, empowering movie for women and anyone, actually. Her speech was so inspirational and I felt every word that came out of this queens mouth, but staying on the topic of fashion. I think…I know she was best dressed, she showed a great amount of skin, everything fit perfectly. I loved everything about her and a style choice, PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT!!

Well that’s all for me and my opinion on last nights SAG awards best dressed. If you enjoyed be sure to “LIKE” this post. Did you see the awards? who were your favorites? Did you love Taraji P Henson Reem Acra gown? Tell me who was your favorite in the comments.

HASK | Chai Seed Oil

chai-seed1

Hi Lovelies,

For the longest, I have been a huge fan of the Hask hair brand, and trying their variety of hair collections makes me more and more excited for upcoming products. When I got the “okay” to try the new Chai Seed Oil shampoo and condition, I was so excited.

I have tried numerous Hask hair products that dealt with numerous hair factors from damaged hair to infusing healthy hair, the Chai Seed Oil was the ultimate addition. The Chai Seed Oil is meant to bring natural volume after wash and condition. Made with, Chai seeds cultivated in South America, Chai Seed Oil is a plant enriched with proteins, antioxidants, and Omega-3’s to give your hair a hydra-boost while washing. This collections is free of sulfate and parabens, and all drying alcohols, which cause breakage and weak hair.

chaiseed3

I have used the Chai Seed Oil duo twice in a month, and my hair feels super soft, though my hair is shorter now, my hair feels healthy and super light. I haven’t had to straighten it as much, due to how many antioxidants and vitamins are infused in my hair.

I love using this duo, the shampoo/conditioner duo is very light, because the ingredients are natural, it doesn’t feel like its weighing my hair down. The seed oil duo smells so good, *emphasis on the good*  I mean, on the record of smelling nearly all the collections sent my way, it doesn’t compare, but none the less it still smells pretty awesome.

chaiseed2

Overall, I highly recommend the Chai Seed oil, if you love big jersey hair, okay maybe that a tad dramatic, but if you love movement, and soft luscious locks, this is the perfect duo. You can find Hask at Target, Ulta, and any drugstore (Walgreens, Rite Aid etc).
