Jane Iredale Skincare & Makeup | First Impressions + Swatches

Sony_12[1]

Hi Lovelies,

It is June 1st, and it seems like a lot has happen in the month of not writing. I’ve been in between testing tons of makeup and trying to get back in school, but moving into June I have a ton of exciting post to share!! Enough rambling lets talk makeup, LOL

Now around the beginning of May I received a gorgeous package from Jane Iredale, if you haven’t heard here’s a little info on the brand.

Jane Iredale is the president and founder of Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, a company she founded in 1994 which brought the mineral makeup line Jane Iredale to the aesthetic industry. She was the first to supply this industry with a line of makeup that had skin care benefits.

Jane has always thought of makeup as an essential part of a woman’s sense of well-being and she wanted to make that easy to achieve.  That’s why her mineral powders are a foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen all in one, and why every product in the line is multi-functional.  Her goal is to make products that look good, feel good and are good for the skin.  Products must be easy to apply, as well, so that a woman can be her best in the shortest amount of time.

I was sent a bronzer, 2 pressed eyeshadow palette, 2 glosses, 2 lip crayons & a Hydration Spray.

Lets talk hydrating Spray, the spray is a lemongrass hydrating Spray that is great to give you a boost after a workout, or even a glow to your makeup. I used this after both scenarios and its such a boost of refreshing mist, It does take more than a sec to dry, but the consistency of the spray is so even, I really love using this. In a world of setting sprays and hydrating sprays, I really can’t compare this spray to any other, the combination of lemongrass, and the mist itself is so refreshing. Now Jane Iredale, has 5 different hydration sprays, it retails for $30. Overall this is great product.

There isn’t a beauty brand that doesn’t have a line of pressed eye shadows, the most famous of them being Colourpop, Jane has a ton of pressed eye shadows to select from in various finishes, matte, metallic, creamy, etc. The 2 palettes I have comes in a duo and another was a trio of shades. Both palettes have a great transition shade, and between the two I can do at least 3 different eye looks. The duo pure pressed shadows have 2 shades a light shade ( Supernova) and a deep brown shade w/ Shimmer ( Oyster) both are heavily pigmented and are not chalky at all, I think the shades are perfect for everyday. I love the packaging of the duo palette, it comes in this luxurious gold packaging, which I’m a sucker for pretty packaging. The Trio palette is pretty as well, the palette “Pink Bliss” comes with  pretty shades, a transition shade, a very matte pink shade, and a shimmery plum shade, which gives me so much LIFE!

first 3 ( the Pink Bliss trio palette) Last 2 ( Oyster/Supernova duo palette)

These are the swatches without priming my arm, as you can see the shades are pigmented and doesn’t have any chunky fallout, which you normally get with glittery or shimmer eye shadows. Overall the shades are great, they are wearable and both contain very pretty shades, my favorite is the “Pink Bliss” trio palette.

Both palettes retail for $30

Next I got the “Rose Dawn” bronzer that comes with a highlight, 2 blushes, & contour, when I looked at the shades they all seem like blushes, except the highlight shade, But then when I swatched I could tell the difference, the shades look a lot different than in the pan itself. All the shades have a shimmer effect, which when it comes to my bronzers/ contour shades I like deep matte shades but I tried it anyhow to give it chance. I really like the feel of the bronzer, the texture is very buttery and soft, they apply really nice. When wearing the bronzer shades they act more as a highlighter, all have a very iridescent finish to them sort of like the Nicole Guerriero x ABH highlight palette it’s just the shades look a little similar, which is great. I like the bronzer palette, its really pretty on the face.

It retails for $44

Lastly I got some lip products, when it comes to lip products I am a hoarder, I was sent 2 glosses, 2 lip crayons, and a lip balm. The glosses I got was the shade Pink Smoothie & Beach Plum. When it comes to glosses I normally can do without, because glosses can be sticky or not pigmented enough for me, but these Pure glosses are nothing like it. I really like the lip glosses, they are very light when applying and they don’t have a tacky application. I really like the shades, Beach Plum is my favorite, I’ll show you why in a min. I also got some lip crayons, which I love, both shades have this velvet like application which is just pigmented and smooth.

1496275962081

The first 2 shades Lip Crayons ( Yummy & Saucy) I love the names BTW! last 2 Pure Glosses ( Pink Smoothie & Beach Plum)

The lip crayons are, as you know, easy to apply, they glide on the lips I just love them.

Yummy ( Pinky Nude shade)

Saucy  ( red- Orange)

Pure Glosses

Pink Smoothie ( light Pink shade w/ shimmer)

Beach Plum ( Dark Plum w/ Pink undertone)

Lastly I got a Jane Iredale lip balm, which is just a great hydrating lipstick. I love the feel of this lip balm, it has a little pink tint to it, and smells like lemon, Mmmmm!!

The lip glosses retail $26 | Lip Crayons $18 | Lip Balm $15

Well that’s all for my haul and first Impressions, I hope you enjoyed, If you did be sure to “LIKE’ this post. Have you tried Jane Iredale? Whats your favorite product?

PR was sent by Jane Iredale, all opinions and photos were my own. Thank you

Essence Makeup | First Impressions + Review

2017-04-15-16-50-39[1]

Beauty on a budget, yes please! I always go back and forth on luxury items and drugstore beauty, but the thing is beauty does not have to be expensive to work.

Essence Beauty has been on the beauty scene for a while now and from looking at beauty reviews from Tati and Laura Lee raving about the products, I finally broke down and tried some of their products. These samples are *PR so my opinions are all my own.

LRM_EXPORT_20170416_135703[1]

Lets talk highlight, I am a huge fan of glowing, but aren’t we all, the essence pure nude highlighter is a baked highlighter, which I like more for wearing daily because it gives you a subtle glow, but you still are LIT for the Gods. This highlighter is completely build-able and it doesn’t look cake-y when you’re building on the layers. I got the shade 10 ( be my highlight) which is a very beautiful golden champagne shade, this is definitely gorgeous for the summer, over your bronzer, just go crazy with it. This highlighter retails for $4.49 USD I mean SOLD

I love drawing attention to my eyes, and I’m not completely a “lash girl” ( only for pictures) but bold lashes are my go to. Essences’ “I Love Extreme crazy Volume” mascara, if you love the separated lash look, this is definitely the mascara that you want to get. I have been using this for the past week, and the compliments are non stop. This mascara has a long applicator which allows to get every lash evenly, the bristles are separated evenly as well, so they don’t clunk at all. This mascara pacts on the volume and gives you that full of lashes look.

I received 2 liquid lipsticks and a creme lipstick, which I’m so glad they sent a nude shade because, that’s literally all I wear in the summer. As a girl who absolutely Loves liquid lipsticks, I have mixed feelings about these products, I got the shades 04 (Showoff) which is a very pigmented Coral red tone & 06 (making a statement) which is a mauve-y pinkish shade. I know that liquid lipsticks can be defined in a ton of ways, but I think of liquid lipsticks as a matte finish, but they are both pigmented shades, and the shades I received were muted which is gorgeous, they remind me a little of the L”Oreal lip paints, which is great. The applicator is short, and comes with a flat doe foot applicator, which I’m used to longer ones, but I can get used to this, perfect for on the go. I really love the shades actually, I just think that calling it “liquid lipsticks” is a little misleading, I think that this product leans towards melted lipsticks or lip paints. None the less the shades are gorgeous and I will definitely more in the future.

Top ( Make a Statement) Bottom ( Show Off)

If you tried this product tell me what you think about it?

I love pampering myself with mani/pedis, especially during the Spring/Summer because all the bright shades can be worn. I’ve tried essence’s nail polish before and talk about a small quantity that packs a punch.  The nail shade I’m wearing is “Club Hopper” which is a very Teal ( blue green) shade and It is so beautiful, The shade with one coat is gorgeous, a second just makes it pop. I really love the shade it’s super pigmented and very wearable in the spring season.

Well that’s all for my mini haul/ first Impressions, WDYT?  Have you tried Essence Cosmetics? Did you like any of the products shown in the post? Let me know in the comments. Happy Easter

Too Faced Liquified Mattes

Hi Lovelies,

I’ve always been late when it comes to getting the latest in beauty, because when you buy one thing there’s a billion that comes out the next day, UUUHHH!!  I have been a fan of Too Faced liquid lipsticks, they retail for $21 which is a pretty penny, but you are not just paying for the brand, this liquid lipsticks is mattified to Death. One thing I love is the packaging, it comes in a glass packaging, which is so beautiful, but also is easily breakable. I’m a fan of matte liquid lips and this matte formula is super pigmented, and rich in color, I have a hard time when I wear liquid lipsticks and they are super drying, or streaky in color, but this formula takes a trip to Africa and back to come off. I brought drop dead red and Bend & Snap, which were total opposites when it comes to the color spectrum. Drop Dead Red, is a very deep cranberry Red, super sexy and Fall season, I know Spring time is upon us, but a classic red is for all season, OKKUURRR! Bend & Snap is a very hot Pink, super pigmented and pretty, definitely a pigmented pink.  I recommend this brand of liquid lips, trust me…. disappointing, NOTTT!!

I hope you enjoyed the little overview, I will definitely have more post coming, my OOTD’s are coming back and more Beauty post are on the way, getting myself ready for Summer classes has been a process, but I’m back in the game. Tell me if you like Too Faced? If so “LIKE” this post, and “COMMENT” whats your favorite shade in the collection.

theBalm Cosmetics | theBalm Jovi palette & The smoke palette

PR samples are provided by Notino, all opinions and photos are my own.

lrm_export_20170211_2105431

Hi Lovelies,

I’m back with another beauty haul, today I am going to be reviewing 2 palettes of the Balm cosmetics, Guys! I don’t know how much I rave about this brand, probably a lot, but I was excited to try theBalmJovi palette and the Smoke palette. So, lets get into this review, SHALL WE.

lrm_export_20170211_2115361

 lrm_export_20170211_2140251

I am a huge “palette girl” I love a great drugstore brand palette, I mean I’m all for luxury brands, but I don’t like being completely broke. The Balm, if I haven’t said it before, this brand has great quality products for great prices.

Okay now for the palette, the Balm Jovi palette is a full face palette that comes with 12 eye shadows , highlighter, blush, and 2 lip shades. I never used a full face palette, I buy products individually, but I feel that this palette has its advantages, I mean you’re paying for a palette that comes literally with everything, and you’re saving a ton of money. This palette retails for $20, which is a great price for the entire palette.

This palette is so amazing the eye shadows have 4 metallic shades, 4 matte, and 4 shimmer shades. All the eye shadow shades are super pigmented, they are very creamy and I love how the shades vary they have light shades, transition shades, and dark shades also they have a few warm tone colors which I live for.

lrm_export_20170212_1133191

I swatched all the shades and I did have to prime my arm, I never had to do that BTW, but the shadows shows up as they do in the palette. Each swatch is 2 layers so they show up better. Okay, so the shades itself are super pigmented, they all show up nicely, they are not at all chalky, they apply very smooth, and even swatch super creamy. I like that that the palette had 3 different shade finishes ( metallic, matte, and shimmer).

The consistency of this palette is very nice I think the shades are lovely so the swatches are above. (left to right)

The first 4 are all metallic shades_

  • Metallica  ( white Metallic)
  • Iron Maiden ( Golden)
  • Led Zepplin ( Olive Green Metallic)
  • Alice Cooper (Brown w/Mauve undertone Metallic)

I really love these pigmented metallic shades, they are rich in color, and apply so creamy, I also like that they are grouped as heavy metal rock bands, all of whom I’ve listened to a billion times, these shades apply really nice with/out primer, there is a ton of fall out, but what eyeshadow doesn’t.

The MID – 4 Matte

  • Adagio ( very light brown w/white undertone)
  • Allegro (Taupe Brown)
  • Moderato ( Deep matte Purple)
  • Presto (Deep Brown)

So these 4 are all matte shades based on classical music, which is really great. I love the shades, they are very wearable warm tone shades. I like the deep purple that is in the mix. I think the shades are really pretty, the only thing is that these are best with a primer, otherwise they show up super light, barely visible with exception of the deep purple. Overall the classical shades are really nice, and  nice range of shades for the palette.

The last 4 – Shimmer shades

  • Blink 182 ( Nude Brown w/ pink undertone )
  • The Stroke ( Navy Blue)
  • Rem ( Lilac Purple)
  • Third Eye Blinded ( A fair Pink shimmer)

The last 4 are all shimmer shades, these shades are grouped based off popular rock bands. These shades have to be my favorite, they are super pigmented, and out of all the shades these 4 didn’t have as much fall out as the rest. These shades look really pretty with/without primer. The shimmer shades do have a ton of glitter, but I really like the shimmer on my eyes.

Overall the eye shades look really nice, the application of these shades all have a nice creamy consistency, I have to say the metallic shades have to be my favorite, they show up better on my eyes and the color range is wearable day or night.

lrm_export_20170211_2141371

lrm_export_20170210_1232041

Next is the Smoke Balm palette, this palette is a great palette for any day, they only contain 3 shades a shimmer black, a warm neutral shade, and a highlight shade. I really like the shades in this palette, the shades are not crazy shades, they are warm tone colors, which I appreciate.

The shades are:

  • Blaze ( shimmer Black)
  • Spark ( Matte taupe brown)
  • Flame ( highlight)

I really like this palette, Blaze and spark are my favorite, they are super pigmented and have a very rich consistency. The shades start off light, so they are buildable, the highlight shade is a little to light for my skin tone, it almost look chalky, but swatch wise its very beautiful, it looks like Ice, its kind of comparable to the champagne pop glow palette.

lrm_export_20170212_1123151

Here are the swatches of the smoke balm palette.

Well that’s all for my review on the balm jovi and smoke balm palette. Be sure to “LIKE” this post, and tell me if you tried either palette? Do you like THE BALM COSMETICS? If so, whats your favorite product of the brand? Tell me in the comments below.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paints

2017-02-08-14-36-001

HI Lovelies,

If you’re a beauty addict like me, then you know that liquid lipsticks have taken over in a BLINK! so when I heard about these new liquid paints from L’Oreal, I was so excited.

lrm_export_20170209_1923361

So L’Oreal came out with the new Infallible Paints collection, which contains a total of 14 different shades. Out of those 14 I only brought 3 of the shades, subtle I know, but I just wanted to test them out, before I went lip crazy!!

The three shades I purchased were Sultry Sangria, Violet Twist, & Bewitching Bordeaux, to stay in the deep grape/plum family.

2017-02-09-19-45-461

Pigment

I think that these lip paints are above & beyond, and they are super pigmented. When I swatched these shades, badly if I may add, they  apply sort of light with just one swatch, but they they are buildable, so if you want a darker shade, it can be achieved. I think that they apply very nice on the lips though, Its really opaque, and has a beautiful gloss finish.

Overview

The applicator has a dip in the dough foot, which is great when applying in the corners, I think that the length of the applicator is great, It comes in handy when trying to apply and keep within the lip shape. I really like the lip paints, they can be compared to the Too Faced melted liquid lips, I mean they feel very much like a melted lipstick, the consistency is very nice. As a melted lipstick, it’s not tacky at all, I really like the formula, and the fact that its not sticky, or thick.

NYX Liquid Suede Lipsticks

2017-01-28-13-00-561

Hi Lovelies,

This is not a review, I brought all products with my own money, I just want to chit chat about the nyx liquid suede lipsticks because they are FIRE!!!

I love the NYX brand, year after year I feel like they are neck and neck with the high end brands, if not….better (*no shade*). Every time I go to target I buy one of their Liquid suede lipsticks, because these shades are heavenly pigmented.

I have a few of the older shades, but these shades serve me well. I have the shades: Stone Fox, Soft Spoken, Tea and Cookies, Amethyst, Sway, and Pink Lust.

lrm_export_20170128_1306101

The Nyx Liquid suede lipstick is pigmented, this is only one layer swatches, imagine if I had multiple layers, I know pigmented AF. I think that the shades carry a great consistency, they are very smooth when applying. I love the formula of the shades, do they stay all day, not really, but it leaves a tint on the lips which is nice.

The NYX liquid suede lipsticks are suede but dry as matte, I love a good matte lip, who doesn’t now a days, but it still has moisture even when it dries matte. Which I like very much.

20170125_1358501

2017-01-28-13-28-331

lrm_export_20170127_1155011

The applicator is long and on the thin side which is very convenient to get the corners and edges of your mouth when applying.

I look forward to their new shades in the Liquid Suede collection, the colors from what I saw are super bold and very pigmented.

I hope you enjoyed this little chit chat about the NYX liquid Suede lipsticks, be sure to “LIKE” and “comment” what’s your favorite shades in the collection? Have you tried the Liquid Suede Lipsticks? Do you like them?
