Burnt Orange Eye Look | Ft. PR Dirty Girl Cosmetics

Hi Loves!

When it comes to beauty, I think enough is never really “enough” and when the opportunity comes to try a new brand or product, I’m quick to take up the offer. Most recently I got the chance to test Dirty Girl Cosmetics, and if you haven’t heard here’s a little insight. Dirty Girl Cosmetics was started in 2014, This brand is associated with the appreciation of being a confident women, as well as owning independence above all standards.

I got the chance to reach out to the company and propose a collaboration, because why not? Also, A beauty company on empowering women, yes Please!  I was sent what I like to call “heavens’ beauty package” which consist of Contour palettes, 2 eyeshadow palettes, and etc. After talking to myself like a psycho, and taking a ton of pics for my Instagram stories, I got down to swatching all the items in the package. So, with that being said, lets get into it!

The Contour palette contains 2 highlighter shades, 3 Contour shades, and 3 Concealers. This palette is a powder base palette, which mean there is some fall out.

The shades in the palette are very smooth, and creamy application. When I used the highlighter shades they were so buttery. The shades are buildable in both the contours and concear, but because they are a powder form, they can look a little chalky. Here are the swatches, the highlighters come in a white champagne shade (first) and the other is almost a golden shade. They are both beautiful, I think that the feeling is very high quality, almost like Profusion or Stila. Overall while the palette has some misses, I will use it again, even if that means using it with other products.

The Cream Concealer palette I got ranged in 6 shades from the coolest of white, to a warm tone brown. This has to be my favorite face palette. The palette had full coverage and was able to blend in perfect, Thank God! When I originally opened the palette I thought the shades doesn’t have much of a range, Its going to ruin my foundation, but once I used it there was no turning back. I love these shades they are super rich’ and build-able, I think a little goes a lonnnggggg way.

Lastly, are the eyeshadow palettes, I recieved 2 one by the brand itself, and the other was beauty creations. Now, when it comes to eyeshadows, I think every brand is different, but in ways are similar. I tried both palettes, and lets start with Beauty Creations. Beauty Creations Nudes palette, contained 12 shades w/ 8 shimmer shades 4 matte shades. I loved the shimmer shades, they contain glitter, but who doesn’t mind a little extra shimmer. When I swatched the shades the shimmer shades seem more pigment, and more of a velvet touch, which feels really nice. I didn’t really care for the matte shades that much, they didn’t really build, they were really chalky, but when it comes to eyeshadows, they can’t all be winners. Even though the matte shades were a bit of a miss, the shimmer shades could do no wrong. The next palette was the Dirty Girl Cosmetics Blush Nudes palette, which contained the same amount of shimmer shades and mattes. I tried this palette w/wo  a primer to see would it appear more vibrant than what was appearing on my arm, and the shades were a little disappointing. I do like some of the shimmer shades; like the more rose-y and champagne shades, but the darker the shades, the more chalky the shades appeared. I can see myself using these palettes again, just for certain shimmer shades, But that’s just my opinion, Beauty Gurus test them for yourself and tell me if you have a different opinion.

My First Wig | Wig Review

Hi Lovelies!!

From Lil Kim to every Drag Queen in Herstory, wigs are a reoccurring theme of popculture. For a while now, I have gone doing my makeup looks with my natural hair, just because, I was more comfortable, but then I got to thinking, In order for things to stand out, I need to get out of my comfort zone. So what is it about Wigs that’s so intriguing?

I had the wonderful opportunity of trying my first wig, and it felt amazing, when I tried on the wig, It was like my truest self had awaken. This lovely wig from Wigfactorydirect, and Rene, who is the owner of this amazing company, handmakes the products on the website. The wig I’m wearing is a Synthetic lace front, in this Salmon Pink color. I absolutely adore this wig, Its a really nice shade of pink, nothing crazy, I also like the length, Now I was prepared to shop it half that length, but then I thought, What would Beyonce do?

For a synthetic wig, it almost felt like a blend, it was naturally sot, and didn’t shed like a dog. The only thing is be prepared to have a ton of neck strength, because of the bundles, it can be a little heavy at times. This wig is $50 which for the quality, is not bad at all.

My first experience wearing a wig was so much fun, and totally amps up my look, Don’t you think? But, the biggest question, is am I going to start wearing wigs regularly? HELL YEAH!! I would love to try more shades, more styles, all for the thrill.

If you like this post, be sure to LIKE & Comment do you Like wearing wigs? If so, Do you go bold, or keep it simple?

The Facial Bar | Clear Skin & Glow’n

Hi Lovelies,

When it comes to clear skin, I am willing to pay tons of cash for every great product created for skin, and I know I’m not alone. Numerous brands has come out with skincare as a branch off with the same promise, ” The #1 product that will make you toss your other products” well I actually came across a wonderful brand that show results.

The facial Bar, a skincare & Beauty brand, sent me some samples to try out, over 2 months ago, and here I am with my review…..shall we begin.

My skincare changes constantly, me being a black women there are numerous products that does not support my type of skin, which is constant back and forth with creams and products. The facial bar, is a skincare and beauty brand that supports women of color skin issues, like acne, dark scarring, etc. When I read more on the brand, I found out they are cruelty free, as well as free of parabens, talc, and formaldehyde.

I was sent a Diminishing clay mask, and a gorgeous highlighter.

The Diminishing Scar clay masque, is made with all natural ingredients; Pumpkin clay, Tumeric powder, Cranberry powder, Aloe Vera, all things that your skin needs. On the website it says to use it twice a week, to see results, so I did just that. I really like this masque, it helped with the redness of my skin and cleared up some acne that I had on my cheeks. When you first put it on, it does have a slight burning sensation, after it just starts to harden. After using it the first couple times, I did see the improvement and natural glow to my skin. Being that this is a powder based mask, it allows you to mix it with other home ingredients, I used Milk, lemon, and honey ( which is a natural skin brightener combination). The product costs $16, which for a organic product is a really great price. Overall, this product does work for me, I like how it’s powder based, it gives you the choice of mixing it with whatever is good for your skin, or to use it with something as simple as, water.

Highlighters have become part of a daily routine for, it seems like I don’t need to do a full face beat, just some highlighter will get me through the day. I tried out one of their highlighters and got the shade Rose. This highlighter is so beautiful, a picture can not do it justice, you would have to see it in person. I love this shade, its easy to build, and blend out. when I swatched it on my arm, it almost felt like air, it wasn’t clunky or chalky, it felt very high end, if not better. They have a 7 shades that looks great on all skin tones, for $14 ea.

Overall, the Facial bar, has amazing products for amazing products, and being able to deliver high quality products, for affordable prices is even better. Don’t believe me, check out the Facial Bar

Urban Decay VICE lipstick

HI Loves,

So it’s no secret that Urban Decay is a HUGE brand, not only that, their VICE lipstick collection has me hooked. The collection varies in mattes, creamy, and satin shades, that has over 100 shades varying from nude to the most vibrant Blue.

When shopping at Ulta I literally get overwhelmed by how many shades are on the shelf, and by the end of the day my arm looks like a piece of art. Recently, I brought 4 shades to add to the collection, and I’m here to share this moment with you guys.

I brought the shades Heroine, Moshpit, Spiderweb, and Back talk, all the shades are different finishes.

  • Heroine/ Blue ( Comfortable Matte)
  • Moshpit / Deep Berry tone ( Cream)
  • Spiderweb/ Satin Red ( Cream)
  • Back Talk / Mauv-y Nudew/ pink undertone ( Comfort matte)

Urban Decay4

The packaging itself is gorgeous, it makes you excited for the shade inside. The lipstick comes in a gold, and silver gunmetal type packaging, and being that Ruby Rose is the spokesmodel for the brand, I can see the correlation. I love how the lipstick almost looks like a bullet, and how the shape of the lipstick tip is angled in a way that can be applied to the lips comfortably.

When it comes to the formulas of the lipsticks, I find them all to be easy application, I think when people think MATTE, they think “tug n pull” but the mattes in the collection are very smooth when applying and doesn’t take many layers to see pigmentation. The Creamy shades are my favorite, only because it feels like a gloss, almost comparable to the TOO FACED melted lipsticks, these shades are also buildable which is good for transitioning from day to night.

I hope you enjoyed my review, on the URBAN DECAY VICE lipsticks, if you like reviews like this be sure to “LIKE” this post and “comment” if you’ve tried this collection. If so what’s your favorite shade?

Simply Simplify your Skincare w/Simplicity Skincare’s Dual Pump Reversal Protection Complex | Review

Hi Lovelies,

Time flies, it was just the beginning of June and soon I’ll be back in class cue anxiety

Summer is literally the most debatable season of them all, it super relaxing but,  with the sun; hot weather it really takes a toll on your skin, which can have you spending a summers vacation on skin products. In the weeks of being on break I have been trying this new skincare product that claims to put all other products to rest.

I’ve partnered with Brandbacker x Simplicity Skincare to test and review Simplicitys’ dual pump skin renewal   Reversal Protection Complex, and here’s my honest opinion.

I tried the Simplicity dual pump for 2 weeks ruling out all my other skincare products, but before here’s a little information on Simplicity:

So how did the idea for Simplicity come about? One day, while at my Esthetician, I was admiring her skin. When I asked her what she used, she told me a very expensive eye cream all over her face and neck! Why? Because effective eye creams are highly concentrated and they do a great many things, from promoting cellular repair to increasing firmness to reducing wrinkles to fighting inflammation. Then I got to thinking wouldn’t it be great to have one cream that could do it all and have it be coupled with a serum that was equally as effective? I started talking to my girlfriends about it and the answer was a resounding yes! Hence the birth of Simplicity Skincare. My Reversal Protection Complex, which is derived by combining my Superior Serum with Moisture to give your skin all it deserves. I have been using it over a year and the results have been amazing!

So Simplicitys’ Dual Pump skincare comes with a dual sided pump, with one side being a light weight serum and the other a moisturizer. The serum contains Jojoba OIl, Aloe Vera, witch hazel, and vitamin E, free of phosphates, and Alcohol. The Moisturizer contains Vitamin B5, Aloe, grapeseed oil, primrose, and chamomile.

Trying the dual pump w/o any other product feels super natural, because its a serum and moisturizer in one, it was less time consuming and within a day I could feel a  difference in my skin. I used both in the morning/night after washing my face. The feel of the formulas is super light weight and the consistency doesn’t feel oily, or sticky. Its said to be a anti aging product, which doesn’t just cover aging, the ingredients also target acne, break outs, and blemishes, which I am constantly dealing with.

Since I’ve been using it, my skin feels like it’s being protected from the sun rays, which is a huge factor in aging skin, and a few fine lines on my forehead are beginning to diminish. I feel like if I was to use the rest of this product in a month or 2, I will get the results I’m looking for, but so far so good.

I hope you enjoyed my post on the Simplicity Skincare dual pump Reversal Protection Complex, be sure to “Like” this post, and tell me if you’ve tried it.

La Perla J’aime la Nuit | First Impressions

Hi Lovelies,

If you’re a perfume Junkie *raise your hand with pride* We all have been there, we find ourselves walking past the perfume and a * Drop Dead Gorgeous* bottle is saying “buy me because I’m Pretty” my entire vanity is full of perfume bottles that just make it like a luxury corner, lol.

I recently got the chance to review the La Perla j”aime la nuit, which in french means ” I love the night” for a better translation. Okay, firstly is this bottle not living up to the beauty standard, this bottle is gorgeous , and smells lovely. I have been looking for this perfume for a while, and when I finally got a chance I didn’t grab, I snatched.  It retails for $60.

The La perla perfume has such gorgeous packaging, it comes in a little black box, with a little rainbow detailing around the name.

I really love the smell of the perfume It kind of smells like the Marc Jacobs Decadence and Dior fragrance had a baby, and this would be the product. The perfume has a musk, but it also smells very sweet in not a overwhelming way.

I really like this perfume overall, it really lives up to perfume expectations, I highly recommend it, for anyone to try.

All products, compliments of Notino, one of my go to for luxury perfumes and Beauty.
