The Facial Bar | Clear Skin & Glow’n

Hi Lovelies,

When it comes to clear skin, I am willing to pay tons of cash for every great product created for skin, and I know I’m not alone. Numerous brands has come out with skincare as a branch off with the same promise, ” The #1 product that will make you toss your other products” well I actually came across a wonderful brand that show results.

The facial Bar, a skincare & Beauty brand, sent me some samples to try out, over 2 months ago, and here I am with my review…..shall we begin.

fb1

My skincare changes constantly, me being a black women there are numerous products that does not support my type of skin, which is constant back and forth with creams and products. The facial bar, is a skincare and beauty brand that supports women of color skin issues, like acne, dark scarring, etc. When I read more on the brand, I found out they are cruelty free, as well as free of parabens, talc, and formaldehyde.

I was sent a Diminishing clay mask, and a gorgeous highlighter.

LRM_EXPORT_20170828_201050

The Diminishing Scar clay masque, is made with all natural ingredients; Pumpkin clay, Tumeric powder, Cranberry powder, Aloe Vera, all things that your skin needs. On the website it says to use it twice a week, to see results, so I did just that. I really like this masque, it helped with the redness of my skin and cleared up some acne that I had on my cheeks. When you first put it on, it does have a slight burning sensation, after it just starts to harden. After using it the first couple times, I did see the improvement and natural glow to my skin. Being that this is a powder based mask, it allows you to mix it with other home ingredients, I used Milk, lemon, and honey ( which is a natural skin brightener combination). The product costs $16, which for a organic product is a really great price. Overall, this product does work for me, I like how it’s powder based, it gives you the choice of mixing it with whatever is good for your skin, or to use it with something as simple as, water.

Highlighters have become part of a daily routine for, it seems like I don’t need to do a full face beat, just some highlighter will get me through the day. I tried out one of their highlighters and got the shade Rose. This highlighter is so beautiful, a picture can not do it justice, you would have to see it in person. I love this shade, its easy to build, and blend out. when I swatched it on my arm, it almost felt like air, it wasn’t clunky or chalky, it felt very high end, if not better. They have a 7 shades that looks great on all skin tones, for $14 ea.

Overall, the Facial bar, has amazing products for amazing products, and being able to deliver high quality products, for affordable prices is even better. Don’t believe me, check out the Facial Bar

rimmel-3

Hi Lovelies.

So, christmastime is here, and I love the fact of sitting and watching ELF all day long, but when it’s time to go to an event you have to look your holiday best.

Today I am reviewing a few lipsticks of Rimmel Londons’ long lasting collection, Kate’s collection, and the matte finishes. It seems that I kept the theme of the holidays, all the shades are in the Red shades family.

In a beauty world taken over by liquid lipsticks, its always good to revert back to a nice; moisture lipstick. I love the Rimmel london lipsticks, they are all very pigmented, and they swatch nicely. All the shades have a touch of shimmer to them, even the matte ones. I love that the formula of the lipsticks are not heavy, they apply smoothly to the lips, and even with one swatch the shades shows up great; kind of like the Maybelline Whisper collection, they are great, trust me I don’t talk about anything I don’t like.

I do think that the quality of these lipsticks are great, for a on the go type of person, I enjoy the use of a good lipstick, but these are great.

theBalm Cosmetics x Review | Read My Lips

lrm_export_20161127_005533lrm_export_20161127_010023

Hi Lovelies.

Hope everyone had enjoyed the holidays, I recently took some time off to spend time with family and get myself situated for school, but in between I got to try some awesome products, and when I say “some” I really mean a lot.

I am a huge fan of the balm cosmetics and got to try the read my lips lip gloss (4) POW, VA VA VOOM, BOOM, and HUBBA HUBBA. Now, that I have monologue enough lets begin this review. ENJOY

lrm_export_20161127_010313

I feel like lip gloss has been pushed aside and liquid lip sticks has been conquering the beauty world, but brands like Anastasia Beverly Hills, Kat Von D, and MAC has given lip gloss a platform to bring it back to the fore front.

I stopped using lip gloss, simply because I don’t like sticky lips, I don’t like when my hair swipes my lips, and I love pigmentation #girlproblems. The balm cosmetics have a ton of products that I love, but I’ve always been hesitant about trying their glosses, but all I can say was that I was missing out.

Product

The balm Read my lips lip gloss, is a gloss infused with ginseng and vitamins to give your lips the proper plump of lusciousness and no stick. I am a fan of Ginseng, its good for just about any beauty problem that you have, so if any product is infused with Ginseng BUY IT.

Texture

The read my lips lip glosses got it right with the formula, its not sticky at all, not tacky in any way. Usually lip glosses are very light but the formula is never made to stay on, I wore this lip gloss for a day, Coffee and all, it stayed on for a good 6 hours and I only reapplied once.

lrm_export_20161127_012402

The texture for these glosses were very creamy, and very rich. It glides on thick but it’s still a smooth application.

Shades | Swatches

All the shades I picked were in the same Reddish/Pink family. I got the shades POW | Hubba Hubba| Va Va Voom | Boom

POW- This shade is a Pink tone | Fuchsia undertone

Boom– This shade is a Berry tone, with a shimmer finish

Va Va Voom- A Berry shade with a Red undertone

Hubba Hubba– A Pink shade with a shimmer finish

All the shades were very pigmented to be glosses, so I was definitely satisfied, you do have to reapply maybe once or twice throughout the day, but for a while the shades are sort of long lasting, and the color stays for id say up to 4 or  5 hours.

lrm_export_20161127_013016

Overall PR

The balm Read My Lips were a great success, it swatches beautifully and is great for when you don’t want to wear a liquid lip, or lipstick. The colors are very pigmented, they last quite a while, so you’re definitely getting your moneys worth. These glosses retail for about $7.50 each do that’s a great price.

lrm_export_20161018_11365211lrm_export_20161017_1104421

Hi Lovelies,

If you follow me and my blog post, you know I love beautyspin, which is my go to site for all my latest beauty buys, I recently went on their and tried to stay within my beauty budget (no blogger wants to be broke before the holidays, AM I Right)?

This month I brought a perfume and 3 eyeliners from 3 of my favorite drugstore brands, so lets start with the perfume.

LRM_EXPORT_20161018_113426(1)[1].jpg

I love Perfume and Body splashes, they just compliment a person. I wanted to try something I never heard of before, and Police to be the Queen, showed up. I do a lot of shopping and I’ve never heard of the brand.I did some research on the brand, and found out that it was an Italian fashion brand, that carry more than just perfume.

The packaging is very interesting, I love how the bottle is decorated, and gives me the sense of Bad ass-ery. I love the smell as well, its strong, yet sweet, it kind of reminds me of the Marc Jacobs daisy. I loved the smell, within the first week, I got a ton of compliments from random strangers at the mall. I highly recommend this fragrance, it smells amazing.

LRM_EXPORT_20161018_133516[1].jpg

My last 3 buys were eyeliners, I brought 2 lilacs and a nude. I love the eyeliners I purchased , the consistency and richness of the eyeliners were really creamy, and just glides over the eye. I brought from 3 different brands Rimmel London, Max Factor, and Nyx cosmetics. I really like all 3 colors, and don’t worry I’ll be doing a look very soon with these eyeliners. here are the links if you would like to have these on your vanity.

Dermae New Brand Packaging | Review

2016-10-09-13-09-47

Hi Loves,

Happy Monday to everyone, I hope everyone is safe that encountered  Hurricane Matthew, Virginia did manage to get a hit, but I’m okay, my family’s okay, and Thank God there was not much damage, than a few trees that fell.

Okay, so I’m back with another product review, and I have a lot to share. Recently, Dermae  came out with a ton of brand new products and has brand new packaging. If you don’t know about Dermae, it is a healthy skin care line that has a cruelty free formula and also vegan, which allows the skin to gain nutrients, and aid the skin into health. I was able to try the Dermae Hydrating day ( old packaging) + night cream (new packaging). So, I used both products after my day and nighttime regimen, and can see a difference. I have used it for a full month, so I can base my opinion off of that. Both creams, have the same texture and feeling on my face, the creams are not at all heavy, or sticky like some night creams ( It doesn’t feel like a mask when I go to bed. ) It takes at least 2 weeks to start noticing a difference, my skin did not break out as easily, in all areas of my face, it was hydrated, and now that the weather is changing my skin is known to get dry, especially during the cold season ( I live in Virginia, so our weather is Bipolar. LOL).

Packaging

I do love the new packaging compared to the original, It just has a certain je n’est ce quoi (doesn’t that mean I don’t know) the new packaging ( the Hydrating Night Time cream) is simple, but much more expensive looking, It looks like it could be sold at Sephora, or Nordstrom, and very affordable, which is appealing for consumers and Dermaes’ company. The older packaging looked very normal sort of Basic, and we don’t go for basic.

Overall I love the Day + Night Hydrating Cream, the packaging of course, I like the Brand new packaging, which is more modern, and sleek. I think both products work really well, and recommend it, to anyone who hasn’t tried the brand DERMAE.

New Products

The new products added to the Dermae brand, focuses on not one type of skin issue, but a variety of skin problems.
