Style Guide to Styling swimwear// SPRING EDIT

Hi Lovelies.

Tis the season of music festivals, pool parties, and other outdoor activities! And while it is a little early to be planning what you’ll be wearing at Coachella all the while the world is in quarantine (due to the coronavirus) we are all praying that this pandemic ends; here is a little fashion inspiration to look forward to.

With the summer swiftly approaching, I am finding myself switching my jeans to shorts, and hoodies to crop tops; and while making these drastic changes in my wardrobe, I have discovered that swimsuits are the new co ord outfit for the upcoming season. I know what you’re thinking, “aren’t swimsuits for the pool?” Total misconception in fashion, swimsuits have recently took a turn for the perfect summer outfit, so while some may call it tacky I have found a few fashionable ways to style these for everyday wear. Dresslily, offers amazing swimwear at amazing prices and offers major deals on top of that!

When it comes to styling 1- piece bathing suits, there are so many selections as to what to wear, take this outfit for example; I styled this simple 1- piece with a pair of leather joggers, some chunky ankle boots ( which is in style, btw) an off the shoulder handbag, and of course, some jewels. Styling up neutrals is so much fun, because you can keep it minimalistic with adding more neutrals or pairing it with some color pieces, either way you’ll be able to take the perfect pic for Instagram.

For the second look I chose an animal print 2- piece bikini, don’t be intimidated animal print is just a bolder version of a neutral. I paired this with some faux leather shorts and a jean jacket and some sneakers; obviously this was a reference to all my festival go-ers.

Refresh your wardrobe! Shop dresslily to get the best prices on the best quality fashion for all occasions.

Spring Edit // The revival of the block sandal

Hi Lovelies,

Finding the perfect spring sandal can be quite the mission. Let’s face it, while finding sundresses, shorts, rompers, and other spring attire nothing completes the look without the perfect shoe. When it comes to looking for the perfect spring clog, sandal, mule or whatever the choice may be a lot is taken into consideration when deciding what to break the bank on. I mean think about the color of the shoe, the cut, whether it’s a heel or flat, all goes into thought when picking the perfect spring heel (or flat for that matter).

I remember watching an episode of sex and the city, I forget what episode it was but charlotte had a foot obsessed admirer that gave her the most gorgeous pair of sandals for free; all she had to do was try on the shoes, and though the sandals was just shown at a glimpse I recognize the detail of that sandal down to the height of the heel. Most of the fashion that has made its way to our closets has been from the decades that we can’t stop revisiting, shoes are no different. The block sandal is the most selectable spring trend right now, and a lot of fashion seekers (including myself) are all on board for these blocked beauties.

Many designers are on the trend as well, Chanel, YSL, Jeffery Campbell, and other designers has spruced up spring with their many versions of the sandal and this is the square toe sandal everyone needs in their collection. And it’s not only designers many online boutiques, Qupid, Simmishoes, Boohoo, Public desire all have their versions as well for amazing ( all CAPS) prices. These square toe sandals offer comfort but style as well there isn’t an outfit that these shoes won’t style up. Here are few selections that I know are bound to turn heads!

Valentine’s Day Style Guide

Hi Loves,

Valentine’s Day! A day that shares in giving chocolates, teddy bears, and love for the significant other in your life, personally the only love I have love for other than the unconditional love for family, is netflix and personal chocolates brought by me, given to me, but in the midst of the national holiday I will share in the gift of style. Valentine’s Day is not the traditional holiday when it pertains to fashion, it has evolved into a variety of styles, so whether you are into the classic dress for date night or totally edgy, I have provided a few choices to help with your decision making process.

The traditional style for valentine’s day has always been varied into wearing pink or red, a dress, and a pair of heels, but modern day style guides, literally everywhere have provided other options that can keep the theme of Valentine’s but not make it so obvious. The styles that I decided to choose were to show a range of styles that play with color, pattern, and length. We heard of the infamous little black dress, or lbd for short, I have a dress that shifts the lbd, to a bit more playful, the polka dot knee-length dress I picked from Missguided shows that this style doesn’t have to be matronly but more chic + modern. The polka dot print plays at different mediums, and can easily dressed up with dainty jewelry to set the look off. All the dresses provided are under $50, so if you’re looking for something inexpensive, yet good quality this would be the looks. Trend Report || 90’s Nostalgia

Many trends come and go, but the effortless styles of the 90’s is endless. All hail the 90’s! When it comes to fashion trends the nostalgic 90’s has been modernized once again. The 90s were and will remain the most revolutionary era of all time, PERIOD all caps. From the brands such as Versace, Louis Vuitton, & Tommy Hilfiger, to the celebrities that we all reference, the 90’s decade just won’t seem to go away. Here are a few fashion trends that have made its way from street styles to your closet.

If you’ve asked yourself “what can I wear that is not too heavy, but not too hot” in the midst of scrambling for something to wear, windbreakers are the perfect solution to this question. Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, and more style stars have dawned this style. Windbreakers are great, they add the perfect amount of sporty flair to your ensemble. The revival of these colorful jackets, can dress up the most basic of outfits. SHOP THESE LOOKS UNDER $50

Remember the slip dress Carrie wore to go on her date w/ Mr. Big, that style moment gave spotlight to the slip dress. The 90’s slip dress is the most influential piece of representation of when runway was at it’s height of fashion. The biggest supermodels of all time have dawned this look Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, etc; and have made a complete lookbook in how to style this summer dress. Slip dresses have made it’s official debut as a summer look, but this specific dress is no one note wonder, you can pair this with skirts, jeans, or as is; either way you;re bound to turn heads, like Mrs. Bradshaw.

Animal print is anything, but subtle when it comes to fashion. Celebrities, designers, and trendsetters have taken to the streets with this bold print style and have created a look by look style guide to creating the perfect wardrobe. Leopard print, stripes, etc. are considerably the most neutral pattern to complete an outfit, being a print on all garments like dresses, tops, shoes, handbags have been made a classical pattern in fashion. No longer is animal print just considered for fall/winter season, it can be worn as a statement yearly.

Cargo pants are all the rave this season, but what about these pants are so addictive? Cargo pants have a history when it comes to fashion. In the era of the 90’s these specific pair of pants can most likely be seen with an oversized shirt, whether it was Kurt Cobain, NWA, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Aaliyah, it was made a statement by a legendary figure. In the midst of seeing Influencers sport this contemporary look, I knew that these pants were making a comeback, when “7 Rings” debuted and Ariana Grande rocked an all pink pair for the video. Cargo pants are amongst the trends that are really cute, and stylish, why not bring these back.

I hope you enjoyed the nostalgic post, I have the links of the items within the post, so feel free to shop. Do you think 90’s nostalgia is overrated?
