At how many dresses do you stop and tell yourself “enough is enough” I ask this question every season and still when summer comes around, I find myself scrolling through yet another shopping rabbit hole trying to decide mini or long, body con or flair, pastel or black (Always Black) well this summer I plan to stick to these staple dress trends that will not only give variety but keep you ahead of the fashion curb.
When it comes to fashion, summer is the best time to play around with your style and since layering is not in the cards for most, staple pieces paired with some playful accessories and shades will balance out the perfect outfit for the books. Bold patterns, animal print, bright colors, polka dots, sleeveless dress, puffy sleeves, and corsets are all the rave, if you leave this post without one of these trends in mind, just remember animal print is the way.
This summer is meant to explore your sense of style and try new looks, these are just some suggestions to get started. I rounded a few shoppable looks from Dresslily, that are totally affordable and the epitome of the season’s hottest trends.
Floral, animal print, polka dots, feathers, whatever the pattern printed dresses are always a must, not just for the summer but any season for that matter. I chose this floral, leaf print wrap dress, for under $30. For the summer printed dresses can be easily paired with other contrasting patterns and colors and don’t be afraid to go crazy with the boldest of accessories, shoes, and jewelry
Lace Up Dresses
Lace is definitely considered the “one woman show” of all patterns, many wouldn’t think to wear lace as a go-to summer print because it’s an occasional print, but bold colors and prints can change this to the perfect outfit. I recently looked at the selection of laced up dresses on the dresslily website and they have a ton to choose from, but this dress I chose is the perfect summertime dress, skater dresses are easy to dress up or down;you could wear sandals, heels, or sneakers– the thing about lace is that you can still be chic but with a hint of rebel or sass! This dress is under $40
Of course floral print is the obvious choice of the summer; flowers are very colorful; and feminine giving you the option to play with lots of jewelry or no jewelry, heels or flats, statement bag or clutch, there are endless possibilities when it comes to this print. Now here’s a statement piece you’ll want in your closet
Dresses for Curves
Sleeveless dresses are bound to be the go-to of the summer. I chose this embroidered tank dress that is under $20
